Research on intergenerational mobility has advanced rapidly in recent years and has captured much attention of policy makers and thought leaders. At the same time the explosion of empirical work on mobility remains relatively unconnected from the methodological frontiers in econometrics and economic theory. Organized by HCEO Director Steven Durlauf and MIP network member Esfandiar Maasoumi, this conference brings together researchers who emphasize these foundational aspects and help to provide a deeper analysis of the empirical findings.
