The organizers have invited papers in three main areas. The first area is research on how to measure inequality of health across groups. Example topics include differences in health by demographic or geographic factors, and incorporating equity considerations in the design of quality metrics and cost-effectiveness metrics. Second, is research on the heterogeneous effects of programs and policies on health; these could include a range of interventions such as changes to payment policies, insurance expansions, targeted communications to patients or doctors, and non-health interventions with health effects. Third, is research on how health disparities change over the life-cycle and how long-term impacts of interventions and policies on health may differ across groups.
