The Youth Human Capital and Economic Development Network kicked off its work with a web conference held May 9.

This first meeting focused on the comparative effects on regional per-capita income growth of early childhood programs and standard regional economic growth strategies. We will specifically focus on research by Timothy Bartik presented in his recent book, Investing in Kids: Early Childhood Programs and Local Economic Development.
