HCEO is pleased to announce that applications are now open for our 2019 Summer School on Socioeconomic Inequality (SSSI) Guangzhou. SSSI 2019 Guangzhou is hosted by HCEO and Jinan University and will also include a Best Paper Competition, where participants will have the opportunity to present their work before a panel of leading experts and receive constructive feedback. All undergraduate students majoring in economics and related disciplines in China are eligible to apply for the HCEO Summer School and the "Chicago-Jinan Joint Initiative" Best Paper Competition.

Organized by HCEO Co-Director Steven Durlauf and MIP network member Shuaizhang Feng, SSSI will provide a state-of-the-art overview on the study of inequality and human flourishing. Through rigorous lectures, students will be trained on the tools needed to study the issue of inequality. The summer school will be held at Jinan University from July 1 through July 5, 2019. This is our inaugural summer school for undergraduates.
