Francisco Gomes is currently a Professor of Finance at London Business School. After earning his BA, Dr. Gomes worked at the Bank of Portugal in the economic research department. Following his PhD, he joined London Business School as an Assistant Professor of Finance. Dr. Gomes' research has been published in leading journals, such as the Journal of Finance, the Review of Financial Studies, the Journal of Financial Economics and the American Economic Review. He has also given numerous seminars worldwide. His areas of expertise include capital markets, asset allocation and macroeconomics.
Gomes received a received a Licenciatura in Economics from Universidade Nova de Lisboa in 1994, and his M.A. and Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard University in 1998 and 2000 respectively.
