Marc Fleurbaey is the Robert E. Kuenne Professor in Economics and Humanistic Studies at Princeton University. His research has focused on the elaboration of social criteria for the evaluation of public policies, incorporating principles of fairness. He has been a professor of economics at the Universities of Cergy-Pontoise and Pau, then a research director at CNRS, and as of 2011 will be a professor at Princeton University. He has been a fellow and visiting professor at the LSE, and held visiting positions in Oxford, Davis, CORE, and Hitotsubashi. He is a former editor of Economics and Philosophy and a managing editor of Social Choice and Welfare.
Fleurbay received a Maîtrise in Philosophy from University of Paris X in 1991, and a Ph.D. in Economics from Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (EHESS), Paris in 1994.
