Summer School on Socioeconomic Inequality Guangzhou (SSSI 2017 Guangzhou at Jinan University)


The 2017 Human Capital and Economic Opportunity Global Working Group Summer Schools on Socioeconomic Inequality will provide a state-of-the-art overview on the study of inequality and human flourishing. Participants will learn about the integration between psychological and sociological insights into the foundations of human behavior and conventional economic models. Through rigorous lectures students will be trained on various tools needed to study the issue of inequality. There is no fee to attend. Students will be provided lodging for the week as well as breakfast and lunch daily. Students are expected to cover travel costs to and from the program and any additional expenses they may incur.

Applications  are now open and are due April 20, 2017.

  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Curriculum vitae with relevant courses listed
  • Statement of research interest (3 pages or fewer describing why you wish to attend the summer school and what work on inequality you plan to pursue. Please do not submit your job market paper or other materials not directly relevant to the SSSI.)

All application materials should be in English, as SSSI Guangzhou will be conducted in English.
