ECI network member Magne Mostad and Markets network member Raghuram Rajan have received named professorships at the University of Chicago.

Magne Mostad has been named the university's first Gary S. Becker Professor in Economics and the College. Mostad has been a UChicago faculty member since 2014. His research focuses on applied microeconomics, mostly in the areas of labor and public economics. Mostad has "created novel interventions to difficult questions on a broad range of topics, such as peer effects on welfare programs, intergenerational outcomes of childcare and education programs, and productivity effects of technological change."

Raghuram Rajan has been named the Katherine Dusak Miller Distinguished Service Professor of Finance at the university's Booth School of Business. Rajan was governor of the Reserve Bank of India from September 2013 to September 2016. Prior to his return to teaching in 2007, Rajan served as the chief economist and director of research at the International Monetary Fund. His research interests are in banking, corporate finance, and economic development.
