This two-day conference explores new research stemming from the collective model of household decision-making. The workshop coincides with the 30-year anniversary of Pierre-André Chiappori's influential 1988 paper, "Rational household labor supply." By bringing together leading scholars working in family economics, labor economics, and microeconomics, among other areas of research, workshop participants will productively share ideas and build on each others' findings. The conference is organized by the Family Inequality Network Leaders of the Human Capital and Economic Opportunities Global Working Group and sponsored by KU Leuven and Columbia University. The conference will be held at KU Leuven on June 19 and 20, 2018.
