Le Wang is Chong K. Liew Chair and Professor of Economics at the University of Oklahoma. He currently serves as an Associate Editor of Econometric Reviews, Journal of Labor Research, and China Economic Review. He also holds a special term professorship at Jinan University. Prior to joining OU, he has held positions at the University of Alabama, the University of New Hampshire, and University of Minnesota. He was also a Women and Public Policy Fellow at Harvard Kennedy School. He received his Ph.D in Economics from Southern Methodist University in 2006 and his B.A.

Karen Rolf earned her Ph.D. from the University of Chicago in Social Service Administration. She studied the impact of caring for a child with exceptional needs on parents' labor force participation and family wealth accumulation. She did post-doctoral research in the Economics Department at Northwestern University. Her current work focuses primarily on social and economic mobility, and the impact of early life circumstances on later-life outcomes. 

Alberto Palloni is Professor Emeritus at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. A demographer and sociologist by training, Palloni's work primarily has been in the areas of health and mortality, statistical applications and mathematical demography.

Martha Bailey is a Professor of Economics and a Research Professor at the Population Studies Center at the University of Michigan. She is also a Faculty Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research. Prior to joining the University of Michigan economics faculty, she was a scholar in the Robert Wood Johnson Health Policy Program. She has served on the editorial board at the Journal of Economic History and currently serves on the board of editors at the Journal of Economic Literature and Demography.

Yu Xie is Otis Dudley Duncan Distinguished University Professor of Sociology, Statistics, and Public Policy at the University of Michigan. At Peking University, he is Visiting Chair Professor of Sociology and Director of the Center for Social Research. He is also a Research Professor at the Population Studies Center and the Survey Research Center of the Institute for Social Research, and a Faculty Associate at the Center for Chinese Studies.

Robert D. Mare is a Distinguished Professor of Sociology at the University of California - Los Angeles, where he has been a member of the faculty since 1998. At UCLA he served as the founding Director of the California Center for Population Research from 1998 to 2003. For 20 years prior to that, he was on the faculty at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Michèle Tertilt is Professor of Economics at the University of Mannheim. After finishing her doctorate in 2003 she became an Assistant Professor of Economics at Stanford University. During academic 2006/07, she spent a year visiting the University of Pennsylvania. In 2007/08 she was a National Fellow at the Hoover Institution. In 2009 she was awarded the prestigious Sloan Research Fellowship. Tertilt joined the Economics Department at Mannheim University in September 2010.

James P. Smith holds the Distinguished Chair in Labor Markets and Demographic Studies at the RAND Corporation. He is currently principal investigator for the New Immigrant Survey, a cost-effective survey that yields adequate sample size of the foreign-born, has known sampling properties, permits longitudinal analyses, and can answer policy questions of particular relevance to immigration.

Shelly Lundberg is the Leonard Broom Professor of Demography at the University of California, Santa Barbara and Adjunct Professor of Economics at the University of Bergen, Norway.  She is a Fellow and past President of the Society of Labor Economists and a Research Fellow at IZA.  She is currently an associate editor of the Journal of Population Economics and a member of the editorial boards of the American Economic Review and the Review of Economics of the Household.

Dan A. Black is a professor at the Harris School and a Senior Fellow at the National Opinion Research Center. He currently serves as the principal investigator for the 1997 Cohort of the National Longitudinal Survey of Youth, is co-project director (with Bob Michael) of the NLSY program at NORC, and is on the editorial board of the Journal of Labor Economics, Labour Economics, and the Journal of Urban Economics.
