Dirk Krueger is currently Professor of Economics at the University of Pennsylvania. He was Director of Graduate Studies at the University of Pennsylvania from 2008-2012. He also served as co-editor of the American Economic Review from 2009-2011. His research interests are in macroeconomics and public finance, with emphasis on models with heterogeneous households. Krueger has published in several journals, including the American Economic Review, International Economic Review, Journal of Monetary Economics, Journal of Economic Growth, Journal of Economic Theory, Review of Economic Dynamics, Review of Economic Studies and Review of Economics and Statistics.

He has worked as Assistant Professor at Stanford University and held a Chaired Professorship in Macroeconomics at Goethe University Frankfurt, Germany. He is currently affiliated with the National Bureau of Economic Research as a Research Associate, with the Centre for Economic Policy Research as Research Fellow, with Netspar as Research Fellow, and with the Mannheim Research Institute for the Economics of Aging as Research Professor.

Krueger received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Minnesota in 1999.
