Jorge O. Moreno has worked in the public, private, and academic sectors both nationally and internationally, where he has received multiple awards for his research and professional achievements. He is currently a Professor and Researcher at the Faculty of Economics at UANL, a Fellow Member of the Mexican Academy of Sciences, a National Researcher (Level 2) by the SNII-SECIHTI México, and founder and Lead Researcher of the "Economics of the Family and the Firm" UANL academic research field, recognized nationwide as "Consolidated" by the Ministry of Education (SEP, México) among other academic distinctions. He has directed more than 12 doctoral, 40 master's, and 20 college dissertations; six of his former doctoral students are currently members of the National Researchers at SNII-SECIHTI. He has published more than 50 academic articles indexed in international scientific journals, 20 book chapters, and 16 academic books. His work has been cited over 500 times internationally, and it has also been utilized in public policy diagnostics, design, and evaluation.
He holds honorary positions as part of the Editorial Board of several Mexican national and international scientific journals, is a member of the Academic Board of the American Academy of Financial Management (AAFM), President of the National Research Commission of the IMEF Foundation, Associate Researcher at the Centro de Estudios Espinosa-Yglesias, Advisor to the Board of Directors and founder of the Economic Intelligence Center of CANACO-SERVYTUR México, among other professional appointments.
He holds a PhD and a Master's degree in Economics from the University of Chicago, a Master's degree in Economics from El Colegio de México, and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the Facultad de Economía, UANL.
